In re: WILLIAM RYAN. DECEASED
This is the last will and testament of me William Ryan of St. John’s in the Island of Newfoundland laborer.
First: I devise and bequeath unto my son Edward the downstairs portion of my house situate on the New South Side Road in the town of St. John’s aforesaid.
Secondly I devise and bequeath unto my daughters Kate and Margaret the upstairs portion of my house situate on the New South Side Road aforesaid
Thirdly:- I devise and bequeath unto my son Edward and my daughters Kate and Margaret the piece or parcel of land situate on the New South Side Road aforesaid, and on a portion of which my house is built in three equal shares.
Fourthly. So long as my wife Alice shall live she shall have the right to live in the house bequeathed to my children, Edward, Kate and Margaret and they must support and maintain her and my wife shall have the right to claim such support and maintenance.
Fifthly I hereby appoint Patrick Hennessey of St. John’s aforesaid executor of this my last will and testament.
Sixthly:- I hereby revoke all testamentary dispositions heretofore made by me. In witness whereof I have hereunto my hand subscribed by making my mark at St. John’s aforesaid this twenty second day of April Anno Domini one thousand nine hundred and five William his x mark Ryan Signed by the said testator by making his mark as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witness, the same having been first read over and explained, and the word "my" on page 2 having been first inserted Thomas Saturley J J McCarthy.
