Will of William E. Parsons

In re: WILLIAM EDGAR PARSONS DECEASED.

This last Will and Testament of William Edgar Parsons of St. John’s Newfoundland, being of sound and disposing mind and memory I constitute and appoint William Parsons butler of St. John’s Newfoundland, to be Executor of this my last Will. He to pay all my just debts and funeral expenses, and the legacies hereinafter given out of my estate. After the payment of my just debts and funeral expenses I give to my wife Mary Grace Parsons all monies I may die possessed of or what other monies I may inherit. I give to my wife Mary Grace Parsons my dwelling House situated on Springdale Street No. 69 St. John’s Nfld with all the furniture and everything contained therein, also my Dwelling House and lands situated at Bears Cove Harbor Grace. I give to my wife Mary Grace Parsons all my right title and interest in shares in the Avalon Telephone company Limited namely Certificate No 168 for Twenty shares, equal to Five hundred Dollars. Also shares in the Cape Race Shipping Company Limited equal to Five hundred dollars, also thirty shares in the Standard Oil Fields of Alberta Limited certificate No 3436 equal to Thirty dollars, to have and to hold for her own use and benefit during the rest of her natural life.

On the death of my wife Mary Grace Parsons I give to my son Harvey Treninian Parsons Fourteen per cent of all monies my wife may die possessed of. I give to my son Irven Parsons Fourteen per cent of all monies my wife may die possessed of. I give to my son George Heber Parsons Fourteen per cent of all monies my wife may die possessed of. I give to my son Ainly Parsons fourteen per cent of all monies my wife may die possessed of. I give to my son Herbert Willie Parsons Fourteen per cent of all monies my wife may die possessed of, also my watch and Gold chain. I give to my daughter Carrie Parsons Fifteen per cent of all monies my wife may die possessed of also Organ and Organ stool. I give to my daughter Grace Parsons Fifteen per cent of all monies my wife may die possessed of also Piano and Piano stool. I devise to my Executor all Dwelling House, Furniture, Lands, Stocks, Shares to be sold and the net proceeds to be equally divided between my seven children hereinbefore named as specified.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the Twenty Seventh day of April in the year of Our Lord One thousand nine hundred and Twenty

The above instrument consisting of Three sheets was now here subscribed by William Edgar parsons in the presence of each of us and was at the same time declared by him to be his last Will and Testament, and we at his request sign our names hereto as attesting witnesses.
