Will of William Horwood

In re: WILLIAM WATERMAN HORWOOD. DECEASED.

LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT.

I, William Waterman Horwood, Senior, of St. John’s, Newfoundland, hereby revoke all testamentary dispositions heretofore made by me, and declare this to be my last Will, which I make this fourteenth day of August, A.D. 1920.

I appoint my wife, Miriam Cranford Horwood, to be the executrix of my will.
Subject to the payment of my funeral expenses and debts.
1. I bequeath the forty four shares which I hold in the St. George’s Coal Fields Company to my grandchildren living at my death to be equally divided amongst them.
2. I bequeath to my wife, Miriam Cranford Horwood, all the residue of my property and estate for her use during her lifetime, and after her death I direct that all such residue be sold and the proceeds divided amongst my children as follows:

  • (a) 300.00 to my son, William Waterman Horwood, Junior.
  • (b) the remainder of the proceeds to be divided in equal shares amongst my three sons Edgar Alfred Horwood, Charles Woodley Horwood, William Waterman Horwood, Junior and my two daughters Ethel Cross and Janet Rowe.

  • IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto set my hand the day and year first above written. W. W. HORWOOD SENIOR.

    Signed and declared by the above named William Waterman Horwood, Senior, as his last Will in the presence of us both present at the same time who in his presence and the presence of each other have hereunto set our names as witnesses.
