the petition by Mary nee Mallard for her husband William. They were
married in the Anglican Cathedral in St. John's October 30, 1819
Marriage Entry ( http://nl.canadagenweb.org/as_vistat45.htm ) reads as follows:
William HENNEBURY, bach, Quidi Vidi
"Spinster" MALLARD, ("Mary" added), spin,
Quidi Vidi
Witnesses: John Mallard and Thomas Tucker
Mary notes that her husband died on or about the 9th day of August instant. As she gives no year and the administration was granted in March 1860, researchers may think he died in 1859. However, William died in 1857. |

| 1860 Intestate Estate of William Hennebury late of St. John’s C. D. Farmer decd Admtn to Mary, Widow of Decd 24th March 1860 Estate sworn under L 200 Stg. Entd in P. R. Vol 3 page 422 To the Honorable the Chief Justice of Newfoundland The Petition of Mary Hennebury of St. John’s widow respectfully showeth That William Hennebury late of St. John’s farmer departed this life on or about the 9th day of August instant leaving him surviving his widow (Your Petitioner) and seven children respectively named William, Thomas, Mary, Elizabeth, Ian, Harriet and Margaret. That at the time of his decease he was possessed of property consisting of a farm and farming stock in St. John’s of the probable value of two hundred and fifty pounds That the late William Hennebury died intestate. Your petitioner therefore humbly prays that letters of administration may be granted to her of her late husbands Estate and as in duty bound she will ever pray. Mary her X Hennebury |
