In re: WILLIAM S. GODDEN DECEASED.

I William S. Godden, Baggage Master, of St. John's, Newfoundland being of sound mind do hereby make this my last Will and Testament. To my wife Jane I do hereby will and bequeath all my worldly estate consisting of cash in Bank of Montreal, Cash in hand, and household effects and any house or property which I may at the time of my death own or have an interest in, as long as she do not remarry but should she remarry, than all the beforementioned cash, household effects, and Property, I will and bequeath to my daughter Margaret, that my wife Jane may have in her possession remaining from the said cash, and household effects and property, and should my wife Jane predecease me than to my daughter Margaret I do hereby will and bequeath all the before mentione d cash, household effects, and property and in case I should die before my wife Jane I hereby empower her to act as my attorney to withdraw from the said Bank any or all monies that I may have to my credit at the said Bank, or any other Bank, and further should my wife predecease me than to my daughter Margaret I hereby give the same power, that is to say, to give her the said daughter Margaret full power to withdraw any or all monies form the said Bank or any other Bank. At the former date of signing the second witness not being procurable I the said Wm. S. Godden hereby confirm what is herein written and do hereby sign this the second signature at St. John's Nfld this twenty first day of May one thousand nine hundred and fourteen W.S. Codicil: I William S. Godden of St. John's doth this eighth day of may one thousand nine hundred and twenty being of sound mind hereby make this Codicil to my last will and Testament, dated the third day of January one thousand nine hundred and fourteen and resigned before a further witness on the Twenty first of May one thousand nine hundred & fourteen That should my wife Jane require to sell the house and property for her self support, I hereby give her full power and authority to do so.
