This is the last will and testament of me Thomas Kenny of St. John’s in the Island of Newfoundland fisherman     I bequeath unto my son James Kenny the sum of two hundred pounds to be paid to him within three months after my death I devise and bequeath unto my said son James the two tenements occupied by my tenants Moors and Heath together with half the garden     To my daughter Alice wife of John Sullivan I give and bequeath the house in which I now reside together with the upstairs tenement and half the garden for her own use and benefit during her life time and should she die without leaving her surviving any child or children then to my son James his executors and administrators I direct that my executors hereinafter named will invest the sum of two hundred pounds and pay my daughter Alice the sum of ten pounds per annum during her lifetime and should she die without leaving her surviving any child or children this amount so invested is to be paid over to my son James his executors and administrators To my said daughter Alice I give and bequeath all my household furniture.     To my grandson Thomas Kenny I bequeath the sum of one hundred pounds to be invested by my executors and the annual interest paid to him until he attains the age of twenty one years.     To my grandchildren Patrick Kenny and Mary Kenny I bequeath the sum of fifty pounds each to be invested by my executor and the annual interest paid to them until they shall respectively attain the age of twenty one years.     I bequeath unto Most Revd Dr. Power for a high mass to be celebrated for the repose of my soul the sum of eight pounds To the Reverends John Ryan and John Scott I bequeath the sum of five pounds each for Masses for the repose of my soul and the soul of my late wife.     I bequeath unto my executors the sum of six pounds for a monument to be erected to my memory and as to all the residue of my estate and effects of whatever description I give and bequeath the same unto and to the use of my said son James and my daughter Alice to be equally divided between them.     I hereby nominate and appoint my friends Messrs. James McLoughlan and Philip D.
