Will of Thomas Wallace

IN RE:   THOMAS WALLACE.    DECEASED

This is the last will of me Thomas Wallace of St John's Newfoundland retired Wharfinger and I revoke all former wills by me made. I appoint my brother Patrick Wallace and Reverend Dr John W. Carter (hereinafter called "my trustees") executors and trustees of this my will.

    1. I give to my trustees in trust for Wallace Broderick (my sister's grandson)
    (a) the sum of eight hundred dollars ($800)
    (b) my shares in the United Towns Electrical Company Ltd and
    ( c) my silver watch. My trustees shall have absolute discretion as to how and when the said bequests shall be made paid or handed over to the said Wallace Broderick who is now a minor and may require maintenance and advancement.

    2. I give one thousand dollars ($1000) to the Roman Catholic Episcopal Corporation of St John's to have a high mass offered annually in perpetuity for the repose of my soul.

    3. I give to said Corporation
    (a) fifty dollars ($50) for the Palace Building fund and
    (b) fifty dollars ($50) for the Cathedral Building Fund.

    4. I give to said Reverend Dr Carter to offer up masses for the repose of my soul the sum of fifty dollars ($50).

    5. I give to my said brother Patrick Wallace
    (a) two tho0usand dollars ($2000)
    (b) my shares in the Colonial Investment and Loan CO
    ( c) my gold watch and chain.

    6. I give to my nephew William J. Wallace
    (a) five hundred dollars ($500) and
    (b) my shares in St George's Coal Fields Ltd.

    7. I give to Mrs Mary Byrne four hundred dollars ($400).

    8. I give to Miss Molly Byrne daughter of said Mary Byrne one hundred and fifty dollars ($150).

    9. I give to my sister in law Norah Wallace wife of said Patrick Wallace (a) two hundred dollars ($200).

    10. The residue of my estate I give to my said brother and sister in law in equal shares.

    In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name to this my will at St. John's aforesaid this 23rd day of September A.D. 1925.
