Will of Thomas Ryan

In re: THOMAS RYAN. DECEASED.

In the name of God, Amen, This is the last will and Testament of me, Thomas Ryan, of Saint John’s in the Island of Newfoundland, Pilot. I revoke all former wills.

I leave everything I may die possessed of to my dear wife, Mary Ann to enjoy the same as long as she may live, free from the control of any one, with power to bequeath the same in any way she may desire and I appoint my wife sole executrix to carry this my will into effect.

In this most solemn act I express a wish which I trust will be as a voice from the Grave that my sons John and Thomas will to spare their Father’s memory from disgrace by any act of theirs.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Third day of January Anno Domini one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four Thomas his X mark Ryan. Signed sealed delivered and published as the last will and Testament of Thomas Ryan in presence of us and each other and having been first read over and explained in presence of us. W.H. Mare R. L. Mare J.W. Greenway.
