In re THOMAS BOYD. DECEASED.
Know all men by these presents that I Thomas Boyd a native of Kimarron Scotland and at present residing therein but lately a merchant in Saint John’s Newfoundland do hereby consider it a duty incumbent on me while in health of body and with faculties unimpaired to make some _expression of my wishes in the event of death relative to the property of which I am now possessed and the disposal of the same- that is to say- On this twentieth day of January eighteen hundred and seventy six years Anno Domini I am possessor of ninety six shares of Montreal Bank stock and which I am desirous to have transferred to the undermentioned parties at a subsequent period and which transfers to be dated and understood as correctly transferred, seven or eight days previous to my decease without any further comment- The firm of Boyd & McDougall stands also indebted to me in the sum of Two thousand pounds Newfoundland cy lent Mr. McDougall until 1st January 1879 at the rate of six pr cent interest pble ½ yearly- optional with Mr. McDougall to pay off this amount earlier- To be transferred in the following proportions and to the undermentioned parties- first and foremost to the daughters of my late partner in Newfoundland afterwards to cousins and their heirs at present alive- viz
To Sarah C. McDougall- Ten shares Bank Montreal Stock 10
ditto Jessie McDougall- Ten shares-ditto- ditto- 10
ditto Isabella McDougall- ten shares-ditto- ditto- 10
ditto Ellen Boyd McDougall - twenty shares- ditto- ditto- 20
being in all Fifty shares to these young ladies. - 50

The amount due from Mr. McDougall lent him till first January eighteen hundred and seventy nine to be in realization equally divided among cousins & Wallaces giving each one twelfth after deducting therefrom the sum of Fifty pounds stg as award to executors in seeing this carried out as herein expressed- At present I nominate Dean of Guild James Brown Esqr of Dean Terrace and Baillie John Watt of Kilmarnock- In the event of sudden death the intention of this document I trust will be carried out faithfully & honestly though signature to the same be witnessed by none beyond the great judge of all and before whom all have to appear.
