  Thomas Dunn deceased. In the name of God Amen. I Thomas Dunn of Saint John’s Newfoundland Trader do hereby make and ordain the following as and for my last will and testament. First, I will and bequeath unto the Most Reverend Dr. Power or his successor as Bishop of St. John’s the sum of ten pounds for Masses for my soul I also will and bequeath unto him or his successor as aforesaid the sum of ten pounds towards the building fund of St. Patricks River Head and the sum of ten pounds towards the repairs of the Cathedral. Second- I will and bequeath that the sum of one hundred and sixty pounds be subdivided in equal proportions between my sister Bridget, widow of Francis Meany, my sister Nancy widow of James Hennessey and my niece Elizabeth wife of Michael Bambrick- Third. I will and bequeath the sum of ten pounds to my sister Sarah who is married to Patrick Tobin of Ferryland. All the rest residue and remainder of my property and monies I bequeath in equal portions to my said sister Bridget, my said sister Nancy and my said niece Elizabeth. I hereby nominate and appoint Charles Riley of St. John’s Farmer, the executor of this my last will and testament. Thomas his X mark Dunn. Signed, sealed, published and declared by the said Thomas Dunn who so signed by putting his mark hereto after the same had read over to him & explained in our presence who in his presence and in the presence of one another affixed our names as subscribing witnesses hereto on the twenty-third day of May A.D. 1875.
