Will of Susan Elizabeth Bridgman

IN RE:   SUSAN ELIZABETH BRIDGMAN. DECEASED

St. John's Nfld June 12th. 1911. This is the last will and Testament of me Susan Elizabeth Bridgman of St. John's Spinster, hereby revoking all former wills and testament by me at any time made.

First I give and bequeath to Eric Bridgman Martin son of Alfred Martin, to John Bridgman Butler and to Harold West Pippy the sum of Fifty dollars each, to Gertrude Isabel Martin and Elizabeth Mary Evangeline Martin children of Arthur and Minnie Martin the sum of Twenty-five dollars each. To Cecil James Martin and George Brown Martin children of Ernest and Bessie Martin twenty five dollars each.

Second. I give and bequeath to my executors to be paid to the women's Missionary Society, the sum of fifty dollars, to be paid to the Trustee Board of Gower St. Methodist Church the sum of Four hundred dollars at present held on loan by the said Board also the sum of twenty-five dollars to be paid to the Super Numary Fund of the Methodist Church and the sum of twenty-five dollars to the Home for Incurables:-

Third:- I give and devise to Ernest G. Martin the dwelling House, land and premises situated on Theatre Hill:-

Fourth:- It is my will and desire that the sum of Five Hundred dollars at present held on loan by the Trustees of Wesley Church, be paid to Arthur W. Martin to be used by him for the education of his son Stanley H. Martin:- and that after he has graduated as a medical Doctor or has sooner terminated his education and he can:- He shall repay the said amount to my executors,, to be divided equally between the said Arthur W Martin, Ernest G. Martin, Ellen Pippy, Alfred Martin and Annie E Butler:- John B. Martin F. Robert Martin Lucy Pike with interest on same as used and at four and half per cent, as at present

Fifth:- I give and bequeath to my executors to be paid to Mrs James Janes, the sum of Twenty dollars, because she has been very kind and attentive to me during my illness, and also Eva Bridgman Janes Twenty dollars To Mrs Sarah Gardner of Gear Street off LeMercant Road the sum of Twenty dollars:-

Sixth:- I will and direct that out of the rest, residue, and remainder, of the Estate of which I shall die Possessed there shall be paid my just debts funeral expenses and the cost of the erecting of a suitable head - stone at the grave yard, and that the balance shall then be divided equally between the said Arthur W. Martin, Ernest G. Martin, Ellen Pippy, Alfred A. Martin Annie E. Butler:- John B. Martin. F. Robert Martin and Lucy Pike

Seventh:- I appoint Arthur W. Martin and Ernest G. Martin both of St. John's executors hereto. Dated at St. John's Newfoundland. This Thirteenth day of June 1911. Signed, published, and declared by the testatrix, as and for her last will and testament, in our presence, who in her presence at her request, and in the presence of each other subscribe our names as witnesses hereto.
