In re SARAH ELLEN HAYWARD deceased This is the last will and testament of me Sarah Ellen Hayward of St. John’s in the Island of Newfoundland-Widow- I give devise and bequeath to my beloved adopted daughter Bertha Adelaide Hayward all my property furniture monies and effects of every description and kind whatsoever that I may be possessed of at the time of my decease the same to be hers absolutely and forever- to will and dispose of as she likes- And I hereby appoint the said Bertha Adelaide Hayward sole executrix of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereto set my hand at St. John’s aforesaid this seventeenth day of December A.D. one thousand eight hundred and eighty nine. Sarah Ellen Hayward.
