TRANSCRIBER'S NOTES :

Sarah Ann (Carnell) Collier was the daughter of John Carnell and Hannah Gill Harris. She married Charles Frederick Collier, a sailmaker, who came from Dartmouth in Devon, England.

Charles and Sarah were my maternal great great grandparents.

Their son Samuel George Carnell Collier and his wife Charlotte Augusta Wilkie my maternal great grandparents.

Their daughter Charlotte Mabel Collier and her husband Hugh Alan Bastow my maternal grandparents.

The last will of Sarah Ann Collier late of St. John’s, Widow, deceased.
 
I Sarah Ann Collier of St. John’s Newfoundland do declare  this to be my last and only will and testament, that is to say, First, I  give & devise to my son John William Carnell Collier, and my son  Samuel George Carnell Collier and their heirs for ever * that piece of land  situated on the Quidi Vidi Road and Bounded as follows, on the  East by the said Quidi Vidi Road on the North & West by property  of JH Martin and on the South by property of William Andrews.  The said land to be divided in two equal parts, my son John   William Carnell Collier to have that half ajoining the property of  JH Martin, and my son Samuel George Carnell Collier to have the  remaining half, ajoining the property of Wm. Andrews. Secondly  I give and devise to my son Nicholas James Collier and his Heirs  for ever the whole of that piece of land Bounded on the North  by Collier Road on the East by propertieds of Oke and Carnell  and on the South and West by property of A. Harvey.  Thirdly. I give, devise, and bequeath to my son Fredk  Collier and his heirs for ever, that piece of land, Bounded  on the South by Collier Road, on the East by property of J.H.  Martin and on the North & West by Forest Road together with  the dwelling houses and all erections thereon, & occupied  by myself & tenants. And as to all the residue and remainder  of my estate whatsoever, of what kind, nature, or quality  soever not herein before given, I do hereby give and bequeath  to my son Frederick Collier, for his own absolutely. Lastly  I hereby appoint my said Children Nicholas James Collier  and Frederick Collier to be joint Executors to this my  final Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I have  hereunto set my hand this third day of March in the year  of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety four  Sarah Ann (X her mark) Collier. Signed published and declared by  the above named Sarah Ann Collier to be her final will and  testament in the presence of us who have hereunto subscribed  our names as witnesses in the presence of the testatrix and  of each other (having been first read and explained) Augustus  G.
