In re ROBERT TEMPLETON. DECEASED.
I Robert Templeton of St. John's in the Island of Newfoundland Merchant hereby declare this to be my true last will and Testament hereby revoking and annulling all former wills and testamentary dispositions by me at any time made
First I give devise and bequeath all my goods chattels credits and effects of every description of which I may die possessed to my wife Catherine Templeton for her natural life save the proceeds from my life insurance policy no 18160 dated February 11th 1893 and the stock which I hold in the Newfoundland Steam Whaling Company both of which I give and bequeath unto my said wife absolutely and forever
Second Upon the death of my said wife I give devise and bequeath unto my son Robert Arthur the whole of the property and effects hereinbefore bequeathed to my wife save and except the insurance money and the whaling stock absolutely and forever but subject to the payment of the legacies hereinafter bequeathed.
Third Upon the death of my said wife I give and bequeath to my daughter Isabella Alice the sum of ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00) to my daughter Edith ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00) and to my son John Alexander one thousand dollars ($1000.00)
Fourth I direct that the bequests in the preceding paragraph (3) shall remain in the business now carried on by me until such time as my son Robert Arthur shall be able to pay out the same without serious detriment to the said business but the same shall be secured unto the said legatees by mortgage upon the assets of the said business by my said son Robert Arthur bearing interest at the rate of five per cent per annum the said mortgage to be executed immediately upon the death of my said wife
Fifth To my namesake Robert Templeton Smith I give and bequeath the sum of one hundred dollars.
I hereby appoint my said wife Catherine Templeton and my said son Robert Arthur Executors of this my last will
