In re: ROBERT GEORGE CHEAYTOR DECEASED.
In the name of God, Amen. I Robert George Chaytor of Chamberlains, Conception Bay in the Island of Newfoundland, being of perfect mind and memory but very weak in body, and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last will and testament. That is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hand of Almighty God that gave it, and my body I commend to the earth to be buried in decent Christian Burial, according to the Rites of the Church of
England, nothing doubting but at the general Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life, I give, devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form,
First, my house and lands where I live, also my sheep and calf, I give to my beloved wife Julia while she lives and holds my name but after her death, or second marriage, the house and land shall belong to my brother Allan Chaytor.
Secondly my granted land on Chamberlains Ridge; the part that is cleared and fenced I give to my beloved wife while she holds my name, after that the said piece shall belong to my brothers John and Allan Chaytor. The granted land not cleared, shall after my death, belong to my said brothers John and Allan, but my wife shall have fencing lumber, or fire wood off the said land if she requires it
witness my hand and seal this second day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and four. Robert George Cheaytor (LS)
Signed and sealed in our presence who in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses
William Swansborough Arthur Lawler.
I certify the foregoing to be a correct copy of the last will and testament of Robert George Chaytor.
