Will of Robert Alsop

In re ROBERT ALSOP: DECEASED.

I Robert Alsop of St. John’s in the Island of Newfoundland Colonial Secretary do make this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made. I give and bequeath all money to be received by virtue of the Policy of Insurance on my life and also all other my property both real and personal whatsoever and wheresoever unto my executor hereafter named upon trust to be invested and to pay and apply the interest and profits thereof for the support and maintenance of my wife and children until my youngest child shall attain the age of seventeen years and then to divide the principal share and share alike among my said wife and children the children of a deceased child to take the parent’s share. I appoint Joseph Crowdy Esquire executor of this my last will and testament.

In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name this fifteenth day of March Anno Domini eighteen hundred and seventy one.
