Will of Richard Hendry

In re: RICHARD HENDRY. DECEASED.

This is the last will and testament of me Richard Hendry of St. John’s in the Island of Newfoundland, farmer, hereby revoking all former and other wills by me at any time made.

First. I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Isabella and my daughters Jessie, Isabella, and Maggie (a name is very faint above Maggie, it may be Jennie) share and share alike that piece or parcel of land with the dwelling-house thereon situate on the Portugal Cove road containing about thirty acres, and known as Ferns Hollow Cottage.

Second. I give and bequeath to my sons James, Charles and William, share and share alike that piece or parcel of land situate on the back of the piece or parcel of land hereinbefore described, and separated therefrom by a brook.

I appoint my said wife sole executrix thereto.

Dated at St. John’s this 2nd day of February A.D. 1900. Richard Hendry.

Signed published and declared by the said testator, as and for his last will and testament, in our presence, who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other subscribe our names as witnesses hereto
