Will of Richard Burn

In re RICHARD BURN. DECEASED.

In the name of God Amen, I Richard Burn being weak in body and strong in memory do make this my last will and testament. I Richard Burn first bequeath my soul to God, my body to the earth and rotness and to be entered in the Catholic Church or Burial Ground of Petty Harbour “ ”. I Richard Burn bequeath to John Keneally my two boxes and cloths and ten pounds in money and I Richard Burn bequeath three pounds in cash to the Revd. Father Condon there is three pound ten shillings due to me by Edward Coady which I Richard Burn bequeath to the Revd. Father O’Donnell I bequeath also to Denis Burn all after these sums of money are paid and Denis Burn is to bury me and to put a headstone over me whire I shall be buried and Denis Burn is to pay for five Masses for the repose of my soul. I Richard Burn bequeath one English shilling to Thomas Burn I Richard Burn also bequeath one English shilling to Lawrence Burn. I Richard Burn do further say that whatever money that I am worth is in the hands of Mr. John O’Marah in St. John’s I Richard Burn bequeath to Mrs Mary Brine twenty shillings for a shawl Signed sealed (and delivered) in presence of John Hackett.
