Will of Philip Cahill

In re: PHILIP CAHILL. DECEASED.

I Philip Cahill of Outer Cove by the Grace of God Do make this my last will and testament in which I give and bequeath to my wife Margaret Cahill and my sons, Patrick and James and my daughter Catherine the land and house in which we live (my son Peter to have the right to live in that part of it which he now occupies) the said land bounded on the north by the barrens road on the east by land of Nicholas Power, on the south by land of Joseph Brien and others, my wife Margaret to have control of it while she lives, after her death the said land and house to be the property of my sons Patrick and James and my daughter Catherine as long as the wish to live together, with the right to make a mutual agreement among themselves when the wish to separate, when the separate then all the said land will be the property of my son James.

To my grandson Martin Cahill I give part of that land on the north of the barrens road (when he becomes twenty one years old) said land bounded on the North and east by Kellys, land on the south by said barrens road on the west by foot Path from the gate to Kellys Fence To my son Patrick and my daughter Catherine I give the other part of said land, that is bounded on the west and north by Kellys land and on the east by said foot Path from the gate to Kellys Fence on the south by barrens road. To my son Peter I give all that land in Middle Cove (except half an acre of the wood on the west part of it to my son James) said land bounded on the south by land of Michael Pike on the west an north by land of Walter Power and others

The fishing Room or stage at Outer Cove Beach I give to my three sons Peter and Patrick and James. The land I give my grandson as aforementioned I now give to my son James to have and to hold for his own use, untill my aforementioned grandson becomes twenty-one years old. I give to my two sons Peter and James that land on Pine River road said land bounded on the south by Pine river road on the west by land in possession of Michael Malone on the north and east by land of Ryan and Roach. To my son Peter I give the right to build a house on the clearance he now have made near the gate on the barrens road. I appoint Joseph Brien to be the executor of this my last will and testament.
