Will of  Peter Webber
In re

Peter Webber deceased.

In the name of God Amen, I Peter Webber of St. John’s Newfoundland Tailor being of perfect sound and disposing mind memory and understanding, and now advanced in years finding myself sickly and mindful of my mortality do make and ordain this to be my last will and testament in manner following that is to say,- First and principally of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it and my body to be decently interred, and as to such worldly estate wherewith God has blessed me with in this life, I give bequeath and dispose of the same as follows, I give and bequeath unto my three daughters Mary Jane Harris, Ann and Elizabeth jointly and share and share alike, the house I now inhabit and the tenement in the occupation of Quinn, subject to a mortgage debts of about due to W. H. Mare, Esq. My said daughters shall and may occupy the premises and from and after the payment of the mortgage debt aforesaid, my son George Webber is to be entitled to have and receive the yearly rent or sum of one pound currency out of my said premises. I also give and bequeath unto my aforesaid three daughters Mary Jane Harris, Ann and Elizabeth, by even and equal shares jointly, all my household furniture beds & bedding and moveable effects of whatever nature or kind soever To have and to hold the same to their joint use and benefit. And I hereby nominate and appoint Mr. Joseph Gribble and Mr. George Dicks to be executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking and declaring null and void all wills legacies or bequests by me at any time heretofore made. In witness whereof (having first deliberately and distinctly read over the above and finding the same correct in all respects I have hereunto set my hand and seal at Saint John’s Newfoundland this second day of August Anno Domini one thousand eight hundred & fifty eight.
