In the name of the Father and of the Son of the Holy Ghost Amen.     I Patrick Greyham of Saint John's Newfoundland being sickly and weak in body but of sound mind memory and understanding and expecting the speedy approach of death do hereby in the presence of God and of the persons whose names are hereunto signed make this my last will and testament. In the first place I bequeath my soul to God and my body to the earth from which it has been made by the Almighty and of my worldly goods and possessions I will and bequeath them in the manner following, viz.     In the first place I do will and bequeath that that part of the house in which I live, in the town of Saint John's, and which belongs to me be the property and rightful inheritance of my brother James Graham of the town of Thurles, County Tipperary, Ireland, in case he should come to St. John's to possess the same and should he be not alive nor come here then the place goes to such of his children as come to Saint John's, but should neither my brother nor any of his children come to St. John's then I will that it be property of Bridget Kennedy sister to my late beloved wife, and now living in Saint John's , Newfoundland, provided that she the said Bridget Kennedy pay for and cause to be said every year two Masses for the repose of my soul and for the souls of my family. With the house I also will and bequeath that the property which it contains and thereunto belonging be also the property and rightful inheritance of my said brother James if he should come to St. John's to possess the same but should neither my brother nor any of his children come to St. John's then the said property in said house belong together with the house to the said Bridget Kennedy.

I do also will and sincerely desire that the money now belonging to me and at present lodged in the Union Bank and Saving Bank both of St. John's Newfoundland the amount of which is £ 93 currency, together with what interest may be had thereon in both banks since the time of lodgment (1858) when lodgments were made in both banks viz, £ 62 cy, in the Union Bank and £ 31 cy in the Savings Bank be drawn from both of said banks and handed over to the Revd. Jeremiah O'Donnell Parish Priest of this town of Saint John's and to be disposed of by him in the manner hereinafter mentioned.     I do wish will and deisre that of the money just now mentioned the Revd Jerh O'Donnell P.P. of St. John's do obtain and keep ten pounds currency to pay for Masses to be said for the repose of my soul and the souls of my family, and that whatever expenses it may be necessary to incur during the remainder part of my illness and until it shall please God to call me out of life as well as the expenses of my funeral and interment be paid also from the said money now lodged in the aforesaid banks of Newfoundland.     I do in the next place will and bequeath that when the foregoing and all other necessary expenses incurred on my account shall be discharged and paid that the amount remaining whatever it may be shall be the property and rightful inheritance of my brother James Graham of Thurles, County of Tipperary, Ireland, and in the event of his not being now alive that the same said amount be devided equally between his children whatever number of them there may be and if neither my brother James nor any of his children be now in Thurles nor can be found by diligent search and inquiry being made for them it is my wish, and I do will and desire tha the said amount which would have been inherited by my brother James or his children from me be given and handed over to the Most Revd Doctor Leahy R.C. Archbishop of Cashel to pay for Masses to be said for the eternal repose of my soul and the souls of my family.     I do also will and appoint Edward Ryan and James Cashin both of Saint John's Newfoundland to act as executors to this my last will and testament and to see that the contents thereof be duly and fairly executed and carried out.     I likewise declare and publish this to be my last will and testament made by me up to the date here given, viz. the tenth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty two.     Patrick Greyham.     We the undersigned do hereby witness that the foregoing will and testament have been freely and duly made and signed by the testator on the day and year above mentioned in witness whereof we do hereby sign our names on the tenth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty two. Codicil In re Patrick Greyham deceased. I do hereby will and desire that the following change be made in the foregoing will and testament made and signed by me on the 10th Feby 1862 viz That in the event of my brother James Graham or any of his children not coming to Saint John’s to take possession of that part of the house on which I now live which belongs to me;     instead of that said part of the said house becoming the property of Bridget Kennedy as stated in my former will it becomes the property and rightful inheritance of my sister Nancy Graham of Thurles, Ireland, and should she not come to Saint John’s to get possession of said part of said house it be given over to my executors to have Masses said yearly as many as the proceeds of the said part of said house house will allow for the repose of my soul and the souls of my deceased friends and relatives.     Dated this third day March 1862.     Patrick Greyham.     The foregoing change has been read to and signed by testator in presence of us the witnesses on this the third day of March in the year of our Lord 1862.     Witnesses, Thomas McGrath,     Patrick his X mark Corcoran.
