In the name of God amen. I Patrick Denief a native of Thomas Town Co. Kilkenny and residing in Newfoundland the past forty-five years being now weak in body but possessed of sound memory blessed by God and having goods and chattels that I now wish to dispose and regulate now and for ever. I do hereby make this my last will and testament in the following manner. First of all I will and bequeath unto my loving wife Honorah Denief the farm belonging unto me & containing about nine acres of clear land with dwelling house out houses farming implements furniture that is to say all and every thing contained therein the said property being bounded on the north by the Topsail Road on the south by the river on the east by land now occupied by Robert Nash on the west by land formerly occupied by Patrick Doyle she the said Honorah Denefe with my two daughters Catherine and Margaret Denefe are to have and enjoy the same for ever. I also give my wife ful power to dispose of the said premises in any manner or form she may think proper She the said Honorah Denefe and no other to have any control or claim of any kind during her lifetime She being the rightful owner her executors administrators or assigns- I will and bequeath to my son Thomas Denefe all my right title & interest in that farm owned by me and situated on Branscomb Ridge on the Topsail Road at the east end of Thos- Turner’s farm the said farm being fee simple for ever He the said Thos Denefe to have same for ever together with my watch one feather bed and bedstead He to have and to hold the same his executors administrators and assigns and having disposed of the above according to the true intent and meaning of this indenture and that no construction be put on this will but what it mean that is to say

Secondly my loving wife Honorah Denefe to have the houses farm furniture cattle of every description that is to say one horse one cow one pig where she now live she to have the exclusive right of the same for ever her executors adminr or assigns And the above having been read to me and approving of all and every thing contained therein I do hereby set my hand and seal this twenty sixth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy two
