Will of Olivia L. Bishop

IN RE:   OLIVIA L. BISHOP    DECEASED

This is the last will and Testament of me Olivia L. Bishop wife of Robert K. Bishop of St. John's Merchant. I hereby constitute and appoint my sons Harold A Bishop and Ralph McL Bishop Executors of this my will I give and bequeath to my Executors in trust my stock in Bishop Sons Co Lim. money deposited in banks and all other investments or securities of which I may die possessed for the following purposes

  • To pay to my nephew Eric Finlay the sum of one thousand Dollars
  • To pay to my grand daughter Olivia Charlotte the sum of Five hundred Dollars
  • To pay to my grandson Robert Hugh the sum of Five hundred Dollars.
  • To pay to the eldest child (son or daughter) of my son Ralph McL. the sum of Five hundred Dollars
  • To Benjamin Simmonds at present of Boston U.S. the sum of Two hundred Dollars To The Ladies College Aid Society (of the Methodist College St. Johns) the sum of Five hundred Dollars
  • To the Womens Missionary Society (of the Methodist Church) to be applied to the enrollment of Eight life members who shall be elected by the Gower St. Church branch four each year for two succeeding years the sum of Two hundred Dollars
  • To the Supernumerary Fund of the Methodist Church Newfoundland the sum of Two hundred Dollars
  • To the Methodist Orphanage St. John's the sum of one hundred Dollars
  • To Rebecca Norman a former servant one Hundred Dollars
  • To Pauline Inkpen daughter of the late George L. Inkpen of St. John's the sum of Sixty Dollars per annum in quarterly payments of Fifteen Dollars each until she attains the age of Twenty one years
  • The residue or remainder of my Estate after the foregoing bequests shall have been paid or provided for to be paid in equal shares to my daughter Stella M. Bishop and my son Monroe Bishop.
