Will of Nathaniel Wells

In re: NATHANIEL WELLS. DECEASED.

This is the last will & Testament of me Nathaniel Wells of St. John's fisherman I revoke all wills heretofore by me made. I appoint my son-in-law John Weeks to be the executor of this my last will & testament.

I give, devise & bequeath to my daughter Mary Catherine Weeks, wife of John Weeks, of St. John's, draper, all the residue & remainder of whatsoever property I shall die possessed of, whether real or personal or chattels, real, absolutely: except two coats, which I give, devise, & bequeath to Stephen Beaudeu, son of my sister Winnifred. I do not restrict the said Catherine Weeks, my daughter, in anyway, in the use or disposition of the property as above described St. John's February 1st 1917 Nathaniel his X mark Wells

- Signed published & declared by the testator, as, and, for his last will & testament in the presence of us, who in his presence, and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our hands as witnesses, the said testator having signed the same by making his mark, the said will having first been read over & explained to the said testator who appeared perfectly to understand the same.
