Will of Michael Mara

In re MICHAEL MARA. DECEASED.

The Will and testament of Mr. Michael Mara of St. John*s Nfland a resident of this Town about Fifty nine years. In the name of God Amen*as I finding myself getting olde and feeble I am determined to arrange all my affairs and have them settled in such manner as I think in my breast is fair and just in the eyes of God and myself and the witnesses now present

First I desire that my body may be respectly buried.

Secondly my wife Mary Mara is to have the house I now occupy together with the other two tenaments belong to the same-place together with the furniture and four feather beds beding and beadsteads and after Mrs Mara*s death the remaining part of her property is to be given to Mr. Thomas Mara*s children

Thirdly my son Thomas Mara is to have one Bead and beding six silver Table spoons one Silver watch and all my linnen

Forthly my daughter Mary Mara is to have one Bead Beading & Bead Stead also the Room I hold in Magady Cove a grant from James Webb Esqr Governor for and during the life of Mary Mara only, its understood by these Gentlemen now present that Mr. Burn the husband of my daughter Mary Mara is not to have any claim whatever on this property I am giving my daughter for during her own life, and also I do say that my daughter Mary Mara shall not sell or have it in her power to dispose of the above property in any manner only the incum of it for her own use and after her death the yearly incum of the said property is to be given to the children of my son Thomas Mara.

I have nothing further to say I give it from under my hand in St. John*s Nfland this 2nd day April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven
