Will of Michael Walsh

In re: MICHAEL WALSH. DECEASED

This is the last will and Testament of me Michael Walsh of Mount Scio near St. John’s in the Island of Newfoundland Farmer

I give devise and bequeath unto my beloved wife Alice Walsh all property of every description both real and personal of which I may die possessed during her lifetime and as long as she remains a widow. Upon the death or remarriage of my said wife it is my will and desire that two acres of the western portion of my farm situate on the west side of the Old Portugal Road shall become the property of my daughter Elizabeth and the remainder of the said farm including the dwelling house and all erections thereon shall go to my son John and the balance of my estate shall be divided between my said son and daughter share and share alike.

Should my said daughter become possessed of the said two acres of land and wish to sell and dispose of the same, it is my desire that she shall give my said son John the first opportunity of purchasing it, provided that he is able and willing to pay as high a price for it as any other person who may bid for the same.

I appoint my wife Alice Walsh and Charles H. Emerson of St. John’s Barrister at Law to be the Executors of this my last will and Testament.

In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name this 29th day of November A.D. 1907 Michael Walsh Signed published and declared by the said Testator as and for his last will and Testament, in the presence of us, who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses Charles H. Emerson Frederick R. Emerson.
