In the name of God Amen 4th day of June 1857. I Michael Heathen of Torbay in the Island of Newfoundland Fisherman being very sick and weak of body but of perfect mind and and memory thanks be given unto God do mak an publish this my last will and testament that is to say I give and bequate to Mary Brown the garden I hold at westward side of the road leading from Torbay to Flatrock in the presence of Francis Smyth in witness whereof hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first aforesaid.

Likewise I auterise James Goss and Francis Smith to draw my rent yearly from Thomas Martin Likewise what remain after his funeral is to be divided between Father Troy and Father O’Connor for Masses after Thomas Martin lase is expired forteen years at one pound five shillings the term nearly half out yeare to let it or sell it or cause it to be let or sold for the same as affoesaid I Michael Heathen very sick and wake of body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God for it do publish this my will and testament I auterise you James Goss and Francis Smith to receive and collect what money or moneys that I gave ye an account of as far lies in your power and have it divided as afforesaid that is between Father Troy and Father O’Connor.
