Will of Matthew Primm from Newfoundland will books volume 4 pages 365-366 probate year 1885

In re
            Matthew Primm deceased.

In the name of God Amen.     I Matthew Primm of Saint John’s in the Island of Newfoundland Cooper do make publish and declare this paper writing to be my last will and testament and I hereby annul and make void all former wills by me made or executed.     First I give devise and bequeath unto my son John Primm at present in Boston United States of America the dwelling house situate in Water Street West adjoining my present residence together with the garden in rear of said dwelling house.     I also give devise and bequeath unto my said son John Primm the small coopers shop in the rear of my dwelling house.     I also give devise and bequeath unto my said son John Primm one share in the Union Bank of Newfoundland.
Second. I give devise and bequeath unto my daughter Ellen wife of Richard Geary (free from the debts and control of her husband) the dwelling house situate in Stephens Lane and at present occupied by Janes, Rogers, widow Byrne and widow Colford as tenants I also give devise and bequeath unto my said daughter Ellen (free from the debts and control of her husband) the house situate in Duckworth Street occupied by William Hickey; and I also give devise and bequeath unto my said daughter Ellen (free from the debts and control of her husband) one share in the Union Bank of Newfoundland.
Third- I give devise and bequeath unto my daughter Margaret wife of William Kielley (free from the debts and control of her husband) The dwelling house on Duckworth Street occupied by Francis Wadden and the widow Evans and also I give devise and bequeath unto my said daughter Margaret (free from the debts and control of her husband) one share in the Union Bank of Newfoundland.
Fourth- I give devise and bequeath unto my son Joseph Primm the large coopers shop in the rear of my dwelling house and I also give devise and bequeath unto my said son Joseph Primm one share in the Union Bank of Newfoundland.
Fifth I give devise and bequeath unto my wife Margaret Primm the house I now live in during the term of her natural life and upon the death of my said wife the said dwelling house is to go to and become the property of my son Joseph Primm.     I also give devise and bequeath unto my said wife Margaret Primm the dwelling house situate in Stephens Lane occupied by Ramsey, Janes, Butt and widow Dadwell as tenant to be disposed of by her as she may think proper.     I also give devise and bequeath unto my said wife the garden in the rear of the dwelling house I now live in during the term of her natural life and upon her death the said garden is to go to and become the property of my son Joseph Primm     I also give devise and bequeath unto my said wife Margaret Primm one share in the Union Bank of Newfoundland, two shares in the Commercial Bank of Newfoundland, three hundred pounds in debentures and three hundred pounds in the Newfoundland Savings Bank to be disposed of as she may think proper.     I also give devise and bequeath unto my said wife Margaret Primm all my household furniture, beds and bedding and all other property of every description that I may die possessed of or be entitled to at the time of my death (and not hereinbefore bequeathed) to be disposed of as she may think proper
Lastly. I hereby nominate and appoint my said wife Margaret Primm and John Wadden son of Nicholas Wadden executors of this my last will and testament.     In witness whereof I have hereunto my hand and seal subscribed and set at Saint John’s aforesaid this twenty sixth day of April 1882,     Matthew Primm (LS)     Signed sealed published and declared by the said Matthew Primm as and for his last will and testament in presence of us and each of us who have at his request in his presence and in presence of each other subscribed our names as witnesses hereto, M.J. O’Mara, Philip Wadden.
