Will of Matthew Hudson

IN RE:   MATTHEW HUDSON.    DECEASED.

This is the last Will and Testament of me Matthew Hudson, of Pouch Cove in the Electoral District of St. John’s East in the Island of Newfoundland, Fisherman. I revoke all former wills by me at any time made and I appoint my son Charles Chesley Hudson the Executor of this my will. I will and direct that my just debts and my funeral and testamentary expenses shall be first paid out of my estate.

I give and bequeath my garden near Moulton’s cellar to my said Executor in Trust to be conveyed by him to my grandson Bert, the son of my deceased son John when he reaches the age of twenty one years; if my said grandson should die before reaching the said age then the said garden to become the property of my said son Charles Chesley.

I give and bequeath to my said son Charles Chesley for his own was absolutely all the rest and residue of the property of which I may die possessed including my houses and land at Pouch Cove and Cape St. Francis and my trap and fishing premises also at the latter place.

In Witness Whereof I have subscribed my hand at St. John’s, this Fifteenth day of November, A.D. 1916. MATTHEW HUDSON.

Signed, Published and Declared by the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in presence of us, both being present at the same time, who in his presence and at his request hereunto subscribe ourselves as witnesses attesting the due execution hereof. W.J. Higgins. K. Sinnott.
