Will of Mary Downs

In re: MARY DOWNS DECEASED.

In the name of God Amen. I Mary Downs, of Saint John's, widow, do make publish and declare this as and for my last will and testament, I hereby revoke all other wills.

1. I hereby appoint Edward Voisey of st. John's to be the Executor of this my will directing him as soon as possible after my death to pay all my just debts and testamentary expenses.

2. I give devise and bequeath unto Edward Voisey aforesaid for his sole use and benefit all my leasehold interest in the land house and premises numbered 95 Carters hill St. John's.

3. I hereby direct that the said Edward Voisey out of the bequest to him in the last preceding section shall as soon as possible after my death erect a headstone and railing upon and around the graves of myself and my husband.

4. I give and bequeath to Catherine Scott of St. John's widow of Wm. Scott all the household furniture of every description in my house No. 95 Carters hill.

As witness my hand at St. John's this 21st day of January 1916. Mary her X mark Downs Signed by the said Mary Downs as and for her last will and testament in the presence of us the undersigned both being present at the same time, who at her request and in her presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses, the said will having been first read over and explained to her and she appearing to fully understand it.
