Will of Joseph Cook

In re: JOSEPH COOK DECEASED.

This is the last Will and Testament of me Joseph Cook of St. John's in the Island of Newfoundland, Fisherman. I revoke all former wills by me at anytime made and I appoint Frederick Burrsell, of St. John's, aforesaid, Contractor, the Executor of this my last will and testament.

First. I give, devise and bequeath to my son George R.S. Cook all my water-side property situate on the South Side of the Harbor of St. John's, aforesaid, together with a piece or parcel of land situate immediately to the east of my dwelling house on the South side of the South side road in the said Town of St. John's, which said dwelling house is at present occupied by Theodore Whitton.

Secondly. All the rest, residue and remainder of my property of whatsoever nature and wheresoever situate I give devise and bequeath to my daughter Mary Grace Cummings Guest.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this nineteenth day of August. A.D. 1918. Joseph his X mark Cook

Signed by the Testator as and for his last will and testament in our presence, who in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses, the same having been first read over and explained to the said Testator who appeared to perfectly understand the same and who made his mark thereto in our presence.
