Will of John W. Chafe

In re: JOHN W. CHAFE DECEASED.

This is the last Will and Testament of me John W. Chafe of "Second Pond" Petty Harbor in the electoral district of St. John's West, fisherman, made this fifteenth day of April A.D. 1919.

1. It is my Will and desire that my Executor hereinafter named shall first see that all my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses are paid.

2. I give devise and bequeath to my wife Bridget Mary Chafe the piece of land on which I now live containing twenty acres more or less together with house, furniture, outhouses, horse, carriage, cart, sleigh, harness etc. for her own use or benefit absolutely.

3. I give devise and bequeath to my two nephews Lawrence Chafe and John Chafe sons of the late Geoffrey Chafe all my right title and interest in and to my portion of the fishing room held jointly by me and their late father Geoffrey Chafe with all fishing gear my share of fishing boat etc. for their sole use and benefit to each an equal share.

4. I appoint my wife Bridget Mary Chafe sole executor of this my last will and testament John his X mark Chafe

Signed by the said Testator as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses at Second Pond the day and year first above written Witnesses Stephen his X mark Donovan Henry J.W. Bishop.
