John Squires deceased. St. John’s Nfld, 30 March 1864. In the name of God Amen. I John Squires Coaster & fisherman of St. John’s Nfld being in my sound mind wish to leave my property consisting of boat landed property at Adams Cove Broad Cove & Bellisle furniture & other goods all to my wife during her lifetime & at her death the property & any money in the hands of my executors to be divided between my son Gregory & my three daughters Mrs. Butt, Mrs. S. Freeman & Mrs. Milley at rateable proportions the boat to be sold if possible & my wife to have enough of money to support her as she needs it Executors James J. Rogerson, Michl Dwyer Gregory Squires & Solomon Milley my daughter Mrs. Milley to have a sitting in the pew in Wesleyan Church until necessary to sell it. Witness my hand & seal this the 30th March 1864. John his X mark Squires (LS) Witness, Cyrus Crew, Paul Prestwood. A large glass in my dwelling house I bequeath to James Milly my grandson.
