Will of John DeGrave Ryland

In re JOHN DEGRAVE RYLAND. DECEASED.

This is the last will and testament of me John Degrave Ryland of Saint John's in the Island of Newfoundland Gentleman. I give devise and bequeath all my real estate of whatever description and wheresoever situate and also my leasehold and other personal estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever and all monies and every other description of property belonging to me (except as hereinafter provided for and reserved) unto my nephew Charles Thomas Ryland of St. John's aforesaid Accountant his heirs executors administrators and assigns for ever- subject nevertheless to a payment by him the said Charles Thomas Ryland of one quarter of the net proceeds of the rents of my estate to Mary Burton and Lucinda DeWolfe Burton annually to each of them during their natural lives the said payments of the rents to said Mary Burton and Lucinda DeWolfe Burton are not to exceed annually the sum of twenty pounds currency to each of them And I further order and direct that the amount of fifteen pounds currency which I now annually pay to the said Lucinda DeWolfe Burton under a Bond entered unto by me bearing date the eighteenth day of February A.D. one thousand eight hundred and fifty two shall be deducted by said Charles Thomas Ryland out of the payments of the rents above mentioned to the said Lucinda DeWolf Burton And I lastly will and bequeath to Lucinda Ryland wife of said Charles T. Ryland during her natural life all that piece or parcel of land situate near the road leading to Long Pond in St. John's aforesaid being part of the property known as Burton's Farm and more particularly described in the Bill of Sale thereof dated the eighteenth day of February one thousand eight hundred and fifty two and after her decease to George Sutton and Richard Waterman share and share alike their and each of their executors administrators and assigns for ever And I hereby appoint my said nephew Charles Thomas Ryland executor of this my will.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal as for my last will and testament this seventh day of March A.D. one thousand eight hundred and sixty seven at St. John's in the Island of Newfoundland.
