Will of John Roscoe

In re: JOHN ROSCOE . DECEASED.

This is the last will and testament of me John Roscoe of St. John’s in the Island of Newfoundland, Accountant. I give and devise to my daughter Mary Selina (wife of Jno T. Southcott) the sum of one thousand dollars for her own use and benefit and to be paid within two months after my death. I give and devise to my daughter Laura Louisa Roscoe the residue of all my property and estate real and personal of every description including my Life Policy in the Mutual Insco Co of New York, and for her own use and benefit and freed from the control of her husband should she marry.

Lastly I appoint my said daughter Laura Louisa sole executrix of this my last will and testament In witness whereof I have hereto set my hand this tenth day of August A.D. one thousand eight hundred & ninety eight John Roscoe Signed by the said testator in our presence at his request who in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereto subscribed our names as witnesses at St. John’s aforesaid the day & year above mentioned J.C. Phillips M. Whelan
