IN RE: JOHN LESTER. DECEASED WILL This is the last will and testament of me, John Lester, of Mount Pearl in the Electoral District of St. John's West, Farmer, made by me on this the twenty fifth day of January, 1923. I will and bequeath to my son Gordon Lester the dwelling house which I now occupy and barn and outhouses and all that portion of my land upon which said dwelling house stands from the western boundary of the land adjacent to the land of my brother Charles Lester, to the western end of the grazing paddock and bounded North & South by the railway track and the Mount Pearl road respectively. I also bequeath to Gordon all my land on the northern side of the railway track. I also bequeath to my son Gordon all my farming utensils. I bequeath that jib of land with house & outhouses thereon from the western end of the grazing paddock to the point where the railway track meets the Mount Pearl road to my wife Mary Lester for her life and after her death to my daughter Gracie Sparks. I bequeath to my wife, Mary Lester, all my furniture in my dwelling house. The bequests to my son Gordon Lester & Gracie Sparks my daughter are subject to the condition that they support my wife, Mary Lester, for the rest of her natural life in comfort. If they do not support my wife, the one who does not do so forfeits his or her bequest and the property now bequeathed to them shall be given to the Church of England Orphanage. I appoint my son Gordon Lester and my brother, Charles Lester, executors of this my will. JOHN his X mark LESTER Signed published and declared by the Testator as his last will, by making his mark, it having been first read over and explained to him, in presence of us who in his presence and in the presence of each other hereunto subscribe our names as witnesses.
