Will of John Hennessey

In re: JOHN HENNESSEY. DECEASED

This is the last will and testament of me, John Hennessey, of St. John’s, in the Island of Newfoundland, Mechanic, made this 18th day of May. A.D. 1907.

1. I appoint James O’Neill, of St. John’s aforesaid, Merchant Store Keeper, executor of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all other and former wills that may have been made by me.
2. I give, devise and bequeath unto my niece Maggie Brazil, wife of Frederick Brazil, of St. John’s, the house numbered 14. Henry Street, and the land adjoining the same, including the archway, or passageway, leading to the back of the said house.
3. I give, devise and bequeath unto my two nieces Alice O’Neill and Agnes O’Neill, daughters of James O’Neill, the house and land number 12. Henry Street,
4.I give, devise and bequeath to my niece May Hennessey the piece of land adjoining the land on which the house numbered 12. Henry Street, stands, and to the north of the said house. To Hold the said houses and land unto the said parties for ever.

In Testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my hand at St. John’s aforesaid, the day and year first above written X His mark John Hennessey signed by the said testator, by affixing his mark, as and for his last will and testament, in the presence of us, who, in his presence, at his request, and in the presence of each other, have hereunto our hands subscribed as witnesses. (The same having been first read over and explained to the said testator, and seemingly fully understood by him) Patrick J. O’Neil Margret Sullivan
