Be it remembered that on this Twelfth day of August in the [blank] year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord William the Fourth by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, &c. and in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Thirty One personally appeared

Patrick Evoy of Caplin Bay, Fisherman, and John Rossiter of Caplin Bay Fisherman, and Patrick Congdon? of Caplin Bay, Fisherman

and did acknowledge themselves to be held and firmly bound to His Majesty King William 4th his Heirs and Successors in the penal Sum of Two Hundred Pounds of good and lawful money of Great Britain, to be had, made and levied on their Goods, Chattels and Effects jointly and severally if Default is made in any of the Conditions following:

Now the Condition of this Obligation is such, That if the above bounden

Patrick Evoy of Caplin Bay, Fisherman, Administrator to the Estate and Effects of John Evoy of Caplin Bay Fisherman

deceased, do make, or cause to be made, a just, true and perfect Inventory of all and singular, the Goods, Credits, and Effects of the said deceased, which have or shall come to the hands, possession, or knowledge of him the said Patrick Evoy

or to the hands or possession of any other person or persons, for him and the same so made do exhibit, or cause to be exhibited, into the Supreme Court of Newfoundland, at or before the Eleventh day of August next ensuing the date hereof; and the said Goods, Chattels, Credits, and Effects, and all the other Goods, Chattels, Credits and Effects of the said deceased, at the time of his death, or which at any time afterwards shall come to the hands or possession of him the said Patrick Evoy

or to the hands or possession of any other person or persons for him shall well and truly administer according to Law, and further shall make, or cause to be made, a just and true Account of his said Administration, on or before the Eleventh day of August which will be in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Thirty Two and afterwards from time to time as he shall be lawfully required. And all the rest, residue and remainder of the said Goods, Chattels, Credits and Effects, which shall be found remaining upon the said Administration Account, the same being first examined and allowed by the said Supreme Court of Newfoundland, shall and do pay and dispose of in a due course of Administration, or in such a manner as the said Court shall direct; -- then this Obligation to be void and of no effect, or else to be and remain in full force and virtue.

The Memorial of Patrick Evoy of Capelin Bay, Fisherman

Humbly sheweth

That Memorialists Father died about Thirty years ago leaving a Widow, Two Sons and Three Daughters shortly afterwards the Widow married again.

That Memorialists Sisters are all married.

That Memorialist is eldest of the family and carried on the fishery in partnership with his Brother, John Evoy, until the time of his death which happened in June 1825 on the close of their accounts that year with their Merchants Messrs Bully, Job and Cross they were considerably in debt. That memorialist has since paid off the debt.

That at the time of the death of Memorialists said Brother John, he had an interest in a Plantation situated in Capelin Bay, together with some household furniture and other property amounting to about twenty pounds.

That Memorialists said brother was not married and that he died intestate.

Memorialist therefore prays Your Lordships will be pleased to grant him Letters of Administration to the Estate of the said Deceased John Evoy.

And our Memorialist as in duty bound will ever pray
