In re: JOHN J. COSTELLO. DECEASED

This is the last will and Testament of me, John Joseph Costello, of Saint John’s, Master Mariner.

1. I direct that all my debts, funeral and testamentary expenses (including cost of Headstone), be first paid our of my estate.

2 I give my Dwelling House on Cuddihy Street to my wife Elizabeth Costello, and my daughter Gertrude, and my son William, in equal shares.

3. I give and bequeath to my daughter Margaret Costello of Brooklyn the sum of $800.00 (which legacy shall not abate in the event of my leaving insufficient moneys to pay all my debts and the legacies hereby bequeathed).

4. I give to my daughter Frances Costello, at present of Brooklyn in the United States of America $300.00: and to my daughter Mary Dalton of Brooklyn aforesaid, $100.00.

5 All the rest, residue, and remainder of my property, estate and effects I bequeath to my said daughter Margaret.

6. In the event of either of any of my said daughters, Frances, Mary and Margaret, predeceasing me, the moneys, property, and effects bequeathed to her or those so predeceasing me shall go to the survivors or survivor of them.

7. I appoint Joseph Roper of Saint John’s, watchmaker; and Thomas Redmond of the same place, Tinsmith, Executors of this my will.
