  Grace Goodridge deceased. I Grace Goodridge wife of Alan Goodridge native of the Parish of Paignton, Devonshire, but now resident in Saint John’s Newfoundland and being of sound mind do make this my last will and testament in manner following, First I give and bequeath to my three beloved sons Henry Churchward, Augustus Frederick and John Richard and to my beloved daughter Elizabeth Viola, their heirs executors and assigns the sum of eight hundred dollars each, Next I give and bequeath to my beloved grandchildren their heirs executors and assigns the following sums to be paid to them severally when they shall have reached the age of twenty-one years viz. To Alan Churchward son of Henry C. Goodridge the sum of two thousand dollars- To Mary daughter of Augustus F. Goodridge the sum of two thousand dollars- To Grace Goodridge daughter of George J. And E. Viola Carter the sum of two thousand dollars- To Thomas Bown son of Henry C. Goodridge the sum of four hundred dollars, to Herbert Hunt son of Augustus F. Goodridge the sum of four hundred dollars, to Richard Frederick son of Augustus F. Goodridge the sum of four hundred dollars,-. To Alfred James son of Augustus F. Goodridge the sum of four hundred dollars, To Viola Mary daughter of George J. And E. Viola Carter the sum of four hundred dollars- To Katie Emily daughter of George J. And E. Viola Carter the sum of four hundred dollars. And the residue of all my property and estate together with the interest on the sum of eighty four hundred dollars bequeathed as before mentioned to my grandchildren until they reach the age of twenty one years I give and bequeath to my beloved daughter Susanna Catherine her heirs executors and assigns to have and to hold in full possession as her sole property, And further I do appoint my beloved son John Richard his heirs executors and assigns as sole executor of my estate to carry out this my last will In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fourteenth day of December one thousand eight hundred and eighty-one in the town of Saint John’s Newfoundland.
