In re GRACE G. UPHILL. DECEASED. This is the last Will and Testament of me Grace G. Uphill of Saint John’s in the Island of Newfoundland wife of The Reverend Henry Uphill. 1. I appoint my father George J. Carter of Saint John’s aforesaid and my brother Alan G. Carter of the same place Merchants Executors of this my Will. 2. I direct that the income of my estate shall be applied to the education and maintenance of my daughter Elizabeth Viola Uphill until she shall attain the age of twenty five years and if and when she shall attain that age I give devise and bequeath to her all my property, moneys and estate of every description. 3. In the event of the death of my said daughter before she shall attain the age of twenty five I will and direct that (subject to the specific bequests hereinafter contained) the income of my estate shall be paid to my said husband Henry Uphill during his life. Upon his death the capital and all my property and estate shall be divided equally among my brother and sisters then living share and share alike provided that should any or either of them die in the meantime leaving issue then surviving the share of any or either so dying shall go to such issue. 4. Should my said daughter not attain the age of twenty five years I direct that my jewellery shall go to my sisters to be divided amongst them as equally as possible and that the silver which formerly belonged to my Grandmother shall go to my said brother Alan G. Carter. WITNESS my hand at Saint John’s aforesaid this Second day of September Anno Domini One Thousand Nine hundred and Twenty. GRACE G. UPHILL.
