In re GEORGE HUTCHINSON. DECEASED. In the name of the Father the Son and the Holy Ghost to whose mercy I commit myself. I George Hutchinson of Topsail in the Island of Newfoundland do make and declare this to be my last will and testament. I give devise and bequeath to my dear wife Selina Vallance Hutchinson all such furniture books and other household effects as shall be in my possession and my property at the time of my decease for her sole use and benefit except the writing desk which was my deceased sister’s Mary Hutchinson, and the writing desk which was my father’s, the former of which I give to my sister Elizabeth Hutchinson and the latter to my nephew and godson Walter Hutchinson- Also I give devise and bequeath to my wife Selina Vallance Hutchinson all such dividends interests and profits as shall annually accrue from all such shares in Railways and all other property real & personal as I may be possessed of at the time of my decease for her sole use and benefit during the term of her natural life. Also I give and bequeath to my daughter Julia Sarah Hutchinson her heirs administrators and assigns all my railway shares and other property real and personal whatsoever with all profits interests and dividends accruing therefrom from and after the decease of my said wife; or if it shall please God to give me any other child or children then I desire that all such property be divided between them in equal parts. Provided that if my said daughter or other child or children or the survivor of them shall die before their mother or before attaining to the age of twenty one years and without issue that shall attain to that age of twenty one years, then I desire and appoint that all my railway shares and other property may at the decease of the survivor of my wife children & their issue be given as follows; One half of all to my brother the Reverend Thomas Hutchinson of Kimbolton in the County of Hereford his heirs administrators and assigns, and the other half to be divided in equal parts as follows, one part to the Incorporated Society for the Propagation of the Gospel in Foreign Parts one part to the Church Missionary Society for India and the East, one part to the London Society for Promoting Christianity among the Jews one part to the British and Foreign Bible Society and one part to the Bishop of Newfoundland for the time being to be by him applied to the Fund for the Endowment of the Bishopric of Newfoundland or otherwise as he may think most for the benefit of the Church in Newfoundland-Also I give to my sister Elizabeth Hutchinson and to my sisters in law Emma Sarah Hutchinson and Julia Sarah Hayward and to each of my nephews and nieces the children of my brother the Revd Thomas Hutchinson the sum of £25 sterling each, and I appoint my brother the Reverend Thomas Hutchinson and my nephew Thomas Hutchinson the younger and my brother in law George Francis Hayward of St. John’s Newfoundland Trustees and Managers of all my property real and personal hereinbefore devised to be by them held managed and employed for the benefit of my wife and child or children until the decease of my said wife & the coming of age of my child or children, and until all the provisions made in this my will respecting the said property shall have been fulfilled and I appointed the said Revd Thomas Hutchinson, Thomas Hutchinson the younger and George Francis Hayward Guardians of my said child or children from the time of the decease of my said wife until my said child or children shall severally attain to the age of twenty one years and to each of my said trustees and executors I bequeath the sum of one hundred pounds sterling to be paid with the legacies to my sister, sisters in law, nephews and nieces immediately after my decease to each of them severally out of such part of my property as my said executors shall deem best, In testimony whereof I have hereunto affixed my hand and seal this _______ day of ________ in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy one. ________ Signed sealed and delivered in the presence of us who in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto set our hands and seals this ____ day of _______ one thousand eight hundred and seventy one.
