In re GEORGE DAWE. DECEASED.
In the name of God Amen I George Dawe of Seal Cove south Shore in the District of Harbor Main Fisherman being very sick and weak in body, but of perfect mind and memory, do make and ordain this my last will and testament -
First I give and bequeath to my son Isaac Dawe that piece of partly cultivated land, bounded on the east by William Butler, north east by Seal Cove and west by Stephen Dawe and south by Stephen Dawe.
To my son Eli Dawe I give and bequeath my dwelling house, goods and chattels, stable, cellar and the land the said buildings are on. I give him also my horse, cow, one sheep, carts, harness, plough, whip saw & farming implements I give also to my son Eli that piece of cleared land that is bound on the south west by the big rock, on the north east by Seal Cove Pond, west by William Dowden, south east by Jonathan Dawe.
To my son Robert Dawe I give and bequeath half that piece of marsh land bound on the east by the road, north east by the big rock, north by William Dowdens land & south west by the road. He is to work half that piece of land, He is to work out from where my son Edward left off.
I give and bequeath to my grandson Jonathan Dawe son of Edward the other half of the said marsh land. If my son Robert does not wish to have the said piece of marsh land he is to give it to his other two brothers. My son Eli is to hold possession of the said marsh land until my son Robert and my grandson Jonathan wants it.
The meadow land in front of the house on the south side of the road I give and bequeath to my son Eli bound as follows north east by the road, south east by the Coal road, south west by the river or brook & north west by a small river.
To my sons Isaac and Robert I give and bequeath that piece of land in by the forests to be equally divided between them if it is wanted. The said land is bound on the south by the local road, west by the brook outside the forest, south west by John Dawe and north west by waste land.
My back land is to be divided in the following manner. My son Eli is to take the south west end of it bound by the road, north west by Robert Dawe, north east by Jesse Dawe, south east by Jonathan Dawe. My son Robert is to take the west corner of the land. My son Isaac is to take the north east corner of the land and my grandson Jonathan is to have the south east corner of the land, bound south west by the road north west by my son Eli's land north east by Isaac Dawe and south east by George Dowden.
I give and bequeath to my son Eli my bait skiff by small boat and caplin seine & grapnel.
And I do hereby utterly disallow, revoke, and disannul all and every other former Testaments, wills and bequests by me in any wise before named, willed, and bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and no other, to be my last will and Testament.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 20th day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and four.
