Will of Ellen Quigley

In re: ELLEN QUIGLEY. DECEASED.

In the name of God Amen.

The last Will and Testament of Ellen Quigley wife of the late John Quigley Blacksmith St. John’s East made this Eighth day of July in the Year of Our Lord One thousand nine hundred and One.
I Ellen Quigley being verey sick and indisposed in Bodly health but of perfect and sound mind and memory and of good understanding and calling to mind the frailty and uncertainty of human life and that it is appointed for all to die Therefore I am desirous to settle my worldly affairs and directing how the Estate with which it has pleased God to bless me shall be disposed of after my decease while I have strength and capacity to do so Do make and publish this my last will and testament hereby revoking and making null and void all other wills published by me at any time heretofore made.

FIRST. I constitute and appoint my beloved Father James Ryan sole Executor of this my last will desiring my beloved Father to pay all my just debts and all that will be required out of my Estate.

SECOND. I do will and bequeath that if through my Executor is sold my property situated in Duckworth St. St. John’s East aforesaid One dwelling house No 121 One Blacksmiths Forge to be sold and the money divided equally between my three children Namely Margaret Quigley James Quigley and Catherine Quigley. Further I do will and bequeath that if my property as afore said situated in Duckworth St St. John’s East be under rent for any time before it is sold the rent to go to support my three children afore mentioned less four Masses yearly for the repose of my soul.

LASTLY. I do will and bequeath that if through the event of my Father James Ryan dying before the execution of this my last will I do solely appoint my beloved Sister Catherine to substitute him and that is all. ELLEN QUIGLEY.

Signed sealed published and declared by the said Ellen Quigley as and for her last will and testament in presence of us who in the presence of her, and in the presence of each other and at her request has inscribed our names as witnesses.
