Will of Elizabeth Donovan from Newfoundland will books volume 10 page 268 probate year 1914

In re

        ELIZABETH DONOVAN deceased. In the name of God Amen. I, Elizabeth Donovan, of Topsail Road, Widow, do make publish and declare this as and for my last will and testament FIRST I hereby revoke all other wills. SECOND I hereby nominate and appoint my daughter Mary McGrath of St. John's, Widow, to be the Executrix of this my will. THIRD I hereby will and direct that my said Executrix shall as soon as possible after my death pay all my debts, funeral and testamentary expenses. FOURTH I devise and bequeath unto my daughter Mary McGrath and my grand daughter Rose Delgado as tenants in common all my property situate on Topsail Road and known as "Donovan's". FIFTH I give and bequeath unto my grand children William McRae, Barbara McRae, David McRae, Elizabeth McGrath and James McGrath the sum of One Hundred Dollars each. SIXTH I give and bequeath unto my daughters Elizabeth McRae and Mary McGrath the sum of Five Hundred Dollars each. SEVENTH I give and bequeath unto my daughter Catherine Downey and my grand daughter Rose Delgado to be equally divided between them the balance of money remaining in bank after the above pecuniary legacies and debts and testamentary expenses have been paid together with the net proceeds from the sale of live stock, carriage, sleigh, furniture and other household and agricultural utensils now on my property known as "Donovan's". As witness my hand this 24th day of July 1914. Elizabeth her X mark Donovan. Signed Published and declared by the said Elizabeth Donovan as and for her last will and testament, in our presence, who in her presence and at her request and in the presence of each other have hereto subscribed our hands as witnesses this 24 day of July 1914 having been first read over and explained to the said testatrix and she having expressed herself satisfied therewith. In the name of God Amen. I, Elizabeth Donovan, of Topsail Road, Widow, do make publish and declare this as and for a codicil to my last will and testament FIRST I hereby revoke annul and declare void the fourth clause of my said will in relation to my property on Topsail Road known as "Donovans" and in lieu thereof I will and direct as follows: I bequeath my said property to my daughter Mary McGrath and my granddaughter Rose Delgado as tenants in common subject so far as this bequest relates to my said grand daughter Rose Delgado to the following conditions and limitations namely in the event of the said property being sold during the lifetime of my said granddaughter Rose Delgado one half of the net proceeds of the said sale, representing her said interest therein, shall be paid to her by my said executrix for her own sole use and benefit but in the event of the said property not being sold during the lifetime of my said grand daughter Rose Delgado I will and direct that the interest therein bequeathed to the said Rose Delgado shall cease upon her death and I bequeath the same to my daughters Mary McGrath Elizabeth McRae and Catherine Downey or the then survivor or the survivors of them forever . Elizabeth her X mark Donovan Signed by the said Elizabeth Donovan as a codicil to her last will and testament in the presence of us, the undersigned, both being present at the same time, who at her request and in her presence, and in the presence of each other, have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses, this 29th day of August 1914 having been first read over and explained to the said Elizabeth Donovan and she having expressed herself satisfied therewith.
