In re ELEANOR STEVENS. DECEASED. This is the last will and testament of me Eleanor Stevens of Saint John’s in the Island of Newfoundland Widow of the late George Stevens of the same place Cooper- Whereas the said late George Stevens did by his last will and testament dated the thirtieth day of December A.D. one thousand eight hundred and sixty eight give, devise and bequeath unto my heirs and assigns for ever the one half part of all his freehold property, farmland and premises situate at River Head near the town of Saint John’s aforesaid, Now I do hereby give devise and bequeath unto my son John Shears Stevens his heirs and assigns for ever the whole of the above mentioned freehold property, farm, land and premises so devised to me as aforesaid, situate at River Head near the town of Saint John’s aforesaid. And whereas the said late George Stevens did also by his said last will above mentioned, also give devise and bequeath unto me the one half part of his leasehold property held under lease by him from A.H. Holdsworth, and also the one half part of his leasehold property held under lease by him from Mary Duncan and Isabella Twisden, Now I do also give devise and bequeath unto my said son John Shears Stevens the whole of the above mentioned leasehold property so devised to me as aforesaid and held under lease from the said A.H. Holdsworth and situate in the town of Saint John’s aforesaid and also the whole of the above mentioned leasehold property so devised to me as aforesaid and held under lease from the said Mary Duncan and Isabella Twisden and situate in the town of Saint John’s aforesaid To Hold the said two several leasehold properties unto the said John Shears Stevens his executors administrators and assigns for and during all the unexpired term or interest which I shall have therein- And it is my further will that whatever money, debentures or other property real or personal that I may have or be entitled to I do hereby give devise and bequeath unto my said son John Shears Stevens his heirs and assigns for ever. And lastly I do nominate and appoint my said son John Shears Stevens executor of this my will- In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal at Saint John’s aforesaid this twenty third day of February anno Domini one thousand eight hundred and seventy-E.
