Will of Charles Gear

In re: CHARLES GEAR DECEASED

This is the last will and Testament of me Charles Gear of Saint John’s in the Colony of Newfoundland made this Third day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and eight

I hereby revoke all wills made by me at any time heretofore. I appoint my nephew Robert Gear MacDonald of Colonial Street Saint John’s Chemist’s assistant to be my Executor and direct that all my Debts and Funeral Expenses shall be paid as soon as conveniently may be after my decease

I give and bequeath unto my wife Dinah Gear all my personal property and all furniture and goods in the house. To my said wife all the amount of money standing to my credit in the Savings Department of the Bank of Montreal at Saint John’s as shown in pass book No 985 Save and except the sum of Twenty-five dollars which is to be paid to my sister Eliza Leo of Brooklyn, New York in the United States of America; or in case of her death to her daughter Margaret Leo of Brooklyn aforesaid, if living. (sgd) Charles Gear. Signed by the said Testator in the presence of us, present at the same time, who at h request, in h presence, and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses (sgd) F.S.
