Will of Charles Denning

In re CHARLES DENNING. DECEASED.

In the Name of God Amen I Charles Denning of Saint John*s in the Island of Newfoundland Carpenter being of sound mind memory and understanding and considering the uncertainty of human life: make this my last will and testament in manner following, that is to say, and my last will is, and I do hereby direct that all the just debts which I shall owe at my death and my funeral expences and likewise the allotments of the property hereinafter by me given shall be paid and allotted as soon after my decease as conveniently may be And I give and bequeath to my son William Denning All those Dwelling houses gardens and other ground thereunto belonging situate on the South side of Luke Maddock*s garden ground and now in the occupancy of Merrigan, Mullowney Power and others: Together with all that piece of Ground situate on the West side of the road leading to Torbay containing about Four acres; Together also my right and title to the adjoining three acres and three roads And I give and bequeath to my son Thomas Denning All those Dwelling houses gardens and other ground thereunto belonging situate on the North side of Gower Street and now used and occupied by the said Thomas Denning situate on the South of Gower Street and measuring thereby one hundred and twenty three feet and from the said Street South one hundred and thirteen feet. Together also all that meadow ground belonging to me situate near Fort William And I give and bequeath to my daughter Esther MacCawley Widow and Relict of the late Daniel MacCawley All those Houses and ground measuring from East to West One hundred and thirty nine feet Together with all that Meadow ground situate on the back of said premises where it meets the lands of my son Thomas Denning And Lastly I hereby nominate and appoint my much respected friends Newmen Wright Hoyles and Richard Morris Executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former Will or Wills by me made.

In Witness Whereof I the said Charles Denning have hereunto set my hand and seal at Saint John*s in theIsland aforesaid the third day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty five. Signed Sealed Published and Declared by the within named Charles Denning the Testator as and for his last will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as Witnesses.
