IN RE: CATHERINE BROWN. DECEASED
This is the Last will and Testament of me, Catherine Brown, of Saint John's in the Island of Newfoundland, widow of the late Captain James Brown. I will and direct that my executor hereinafter named shall first pay out of my general personal estate all my just debts and funeral and testamentary expenses.
I give and bequeath unto my adopted daughter Annie Foran (commonly called and known as Annie Foran Brown) all my property of every description, both real and personal, of which I shall die possessed and including in particular the land and Dwelling - House and shop at present occupied by me situated on the north side of Water Street West and all my household furniture and effects, and stock-in-trade contained in said shop, and all moneys and securities for money. To Hold the same unto her absolutely.
I hereby appoint the Honourable Edward M Jackman Minister of Finance and Customs, sole Executor of this my will. In witness whereof I have set my hand to this my will at St. John's aforesaid this 22nd day of October A.D. 1907 Catherine her x mark Brown. Signed by the above named Catherine Brown by making her mark thereto as and for her last will and Testament in the presence of us, both being present at the same time, who at her request, in her presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses the same having been first read over and explained to the said Catherine Brown in our presence.
