Will of Caroline Ford

IN RE:   CAROLINE FORD.    DECEASED

I, Caroline Ford, Widow of Stephen Ford, residing at Springfield - being in full possession of my mental faculties - do hereby make and declare this to be my last Will and Testament.

I give and bequeath to my two sons James Ford and Stephen Ford, in two equal portions, for their sole use and benefit absolutely, and without any reserve whatsoever, my dwelling house with all its contents, all the out-buildings & what they contain, and all my land - with the exception of that property fenced and cleared field of about one quarter of an acre in extend and which is situated to the East of my dwelling house. This field, aforementioned, shall be the property of my daughter Delphine Batten at my decease. In the possible event of the decease of both my sons James and Stephen afore-named, all the property of house and land bequeathed to them by this my will, shall become the property of my daughter Delphine Batten absolutely - providing of course that both my sons are un-married at the time of their deaths.

My last will in reference to my money in the Government Saving's Bank, St. John's, is that the whole amount standing to my credit therein at the time of my decease, shall come into the possession of my oldest son James Ford - but if James shall, un-married, pre-decease his sister Delphine Batten, then the whole of my money shall pass into the sole possession of my daughter Delphine. I do further declare & appoint John Warford to be the Executor of this my last Will and Testament.

In witness whereof I have now subscribed these presents, on this the twenty-sixth day of March, in the year of our Lord - One thousand nine hundred and thirteen - in the presence of two witnesses who names are appended.
